22 August 2024
On 22 August, a meeting of an expert group was held to finalise draft amendments to the Concept of Cooperation of the CIS Member Nations in the Field of Health Protection and the Decision of the CIS Council of Heads of Government on this issue.
The updated Concept will expand the goals and objectives of the document, revise and supplement the main areas of cooperation, and clarify financial support.
The need to finalise the provisions of the Concept is due to the pace of development of medicine and changes in the main trends in this industry, the CIS Executive Committee said. The Concept was approved in 2003, during this time important scientific discoveries have taken place in medicine, modern information technologies and IT-systems have appeared, personalised medicine and other directions are developing, which will determine the development of medicine in the coming years.
In order to bring the norms of the Concept in line with modern requirements, the CIS Healthcare Cooperation Council decided to update the document.
Representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, the IPA CIS and the CIS Executive Committee took part in the work on the document at the meeting.
The participants of the meeting considered the comments received to the draft document and agreed on the results of the discussion.
