IPA CIS Activities on Strengthening Integration Interaction to be Presented at Meeting of Council of CIS Heads of State

On 24 September, a regular meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS Member Nations at the Statutory and other Bodies of the Commonwealth was held in Minsk.

The Permanent Representatives heard information on the prospects for the development of the treaty and legal framework of the CIS countries.

The participants of the meeting discussed preparations for the next meetings of the Council of the CIS Foreign Ministers and the Council of the CIS Heads of State to be held in Moscow on 7-8 October.

The draft agenda of the next meeting of the Council of the CIS Foreign Ministers includes 21 issues related to cooperation in the international arena, security and humanitarian cooperation.

The draft agenda of the meeting of the Council of the CIS Heads of State includes 17 issues. In particular, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko will report on the IPA CIS activities on strengthening integration interaction.

It is also proposed to consider the issues of the Address of the Heads of State to the peoples of the Commonwealth countries and the world community in connection with the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.

Permanent Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian Federation at the Statutory and other Bodies of the Commonwealth Andrei Grozov informed the meeting participants of the results of the 10th St. Petersburg International United Cultures Forum.

The next meeting of the Council of the CIS Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives to the Statutory and other Bodies of the Commonwealth is scheduled for 30 October.
