IPA CIS Continues Cooperation with International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies

A meeting between Head of the Country Cluster Delegation of the IFRC for the Russian Federation and Belarus John Entwistle and Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights, Executive Secretary of the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health Evgenia Vladimirova was held in the Tavricheskiy Palace.
John Entwistle noted the importance of the Agreement signed between the organizations and in its development effective multi-year cooperation in terms of joint activities, as well as preparation of model laws and recommendations. He added that a draft IPA CIS Model Law on National Red Cross or Red Crescent Societies will be presented at the IFRC General Assembly to be held in October 2024. The delegates of the Assembly will discuss the prepared document.
Evgenia Vladimirova expressed confidence that within the framework of the IPA CIS spring session the mentioned draft Model Law will be submitted for consideration of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights and the relevant committees of the CIS parliaments.
She also thanked the representatives of the organization for their participation in the work of the Commission, the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health, as well as in the conferences and forums organized by the IPA CIS.
The sides reaffirmed their commitment to the development of bilateral relations and outlined ways of further cooperation.
It was noted that at the next meeting of the Permanent Commission information on the activities of the Country Cluster Delegation of the IFRC for the Russian Federation and Belarus in the current year could be presented.
Officer of the Strategic Engagement and Partnerships of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Jahor Novikau and Adviser of the Department for International Relations of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Nikita Komarov also took part in the meeting.
